OUR STORY

Maitiso A Bagolo is a registered welfare organization with the Gauteng Department of Social Development, based within the community of Meadowlands. The Organizations establishment came about when five elderly women came together with an objective to:

1. Eradicate older person neglect and abuse.

2. Provide psychosocial support to orphaned and vulnerable children of Meadowlands.

It became formally registered as a Non-Profit organization on the 31st of July 2007.

MISSION STATEMENT

To provide ongoing support in caring for orphaned and vulnerable children in their childhood development stages in order for them to grow and be self-sustainable and to promote protection, re-incorporation and avoid neglect of older persons in today's society.

ACTIVE AGEING

Maitiso a Bagolo’s Active Ageing Programis a holistic, community-driven initiative designed to support, uplift, and empower older persons in Meadowlands. With the elderly population often facing neglect, isolation, and health challenges, this programme provides a structured, nurturing space where senior citizens can thrive physically, mentally, and socially.

ORPHAN & VULNERABLE CHILDREN (OVC)

A dynamic support initiative built to respond to the real and urgent needs of children growing up in challenging environments. Based in Meadowlands, Soweto, this program offers comprehensive care for school-aged children who face the compounded vulnerabilities of poverty, neglect, and the impact of HIV/AIDS.

The PHVP Programme run in collaboration with HIVSA, and supported by USAID—is a targeted, community-based initiative aimed at preventing and reducing the impact of HIV/AIDS among the most at-risk populations in Meadowlands.
